Your money is protected

Paying towards your funeral in advance with a Dignity Funeral Plan is also one of the safest ways to take control of your affairs. That’s because the money you pay is held in a carefully managed trust fund.

We place every penny you pay in a secure trust fund. The trust was set up in 1986 to protect the interests of our Plan holders and Funeral Directors. It is run by expert Managing Trustees, who act solely on behalf of Plan holders.

The money in the Fund is invested and managed by Prudential M&G Management Ltd., one of the most respected investment companies in the country, who currently have over £50 billion under investment.

The fund is also actuarially valued and audited annually by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Currently we are the only national funeral plan provider to publish a comprehensive annual report on our trust fund.

Importantly, the Trust is a completely separate legal entity and its assets are independent of Dignity and all Funeral Directors. And as a further protection, Royal Exchange Trust Company have been appointed to oversee the Trust’s bank account in their role as independent Custodian Trustee.

The trust fund provides security to all Dignity Funeral Plan customers. They know the money paid into their Plan is secure and that when the time comes, it will be paid promptly to the Funeral Director.
