Why do I need a funeral plan?
Funeral Plans are a great way to share final wishes and cover costs so that decision making and financial outlays don't fall on loved ones at the time of need. When you purchase your unique Dignity plan, you lock in today's price. This means that the services covered in your plan will be protected from future price increases.
Who can I buy a funeral plan for?
You can buy a Funeral Plan for anyone, but we would recommend discussing preferences and funeral wishes with them before buying the plan. There are no conditions for acceptance as long as both you and the person you're buying for are over 18 years old.
How can I be sure that my money is safe with you?
The money you pay for a plan is placed in The UK Funerals (2022) Trust, which is an independent trust. The trustees ensure the money is prudently managed and we will also guarantee to add funds to the trust to ensure it is always fully funded. Our commitment to delivering fair value to our customers means that the price of your Funeral Plan is no more than you'd be expected to pay for the same core elements of a funeral at today's prices. Additionally, your money will also be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. We pride ourselves on providing financial peace of mind.
What items of my plan are guaranteed?
All services provided by a Dignity Funeral Director are guaranteed, as well as cremation and burial fees (excluding the cost of a burial plot). We recognise that in creating your Funeral Plan, there may be other items you want to add or third party services you wish to assign a contribution to. We will guarantee the amount of your contributions but the items or services that you have left the contributions for are subject to the Consumer Price Index inflation rates, as costs for these items and services are outside of our control and are not guaranteed.
Can I change my plan after I've bought it?
Our plans are unique to you, meaning you can change the services and options outlined in your plan at any time. We won't charge any administrative fees to make these changes; you just pay for any services you add on. You can also cancel at any time and receive a full refund for any payments made up until that point.
How can I pay for a funeral plan?
You can pay in full at your point of purchase with a credit or debit card, or spread payments up to five years with direct debit. We won't charge you for paying by installments or cancelling your plan. There are no hidden costs with Dignity as we believe transparency is essential in delivering a high quality product and service to our customers.
